Welcome to Cool Careers, a strategy card game where you become a sustainability professional restoring Earth’s life support systems. Combine careers, elements, and regenerative actions to earn Regeneration Points and heal the planet.

🎯 OBJECTIVE

Earn the most Regeneration Points by reversing 7 Planetary Boundaries (identified by the Stockholm Resilience Centre).

Each Boundary is worth points:

• Land System Change (1)

• Climate Change (1)

• Biosphere Integrity (2)

• Freshwater Access (2)

• Biogeochemical Flows (3)

• Atmospheric Aerosol Loading (3)

• Novel Entities (3)

The player with the most Regeneration Points at the end wins!

🌱 Regeneration Points

Points earned by activating Cool Actions that restore ecological balance.

🧑‍🔬 Inspiration

Provided by Career cards. Represents skill, education, ingenuity, and professional capacity. Each career has an Inspiration value.

The ecological forces that power your actions:

• Wind

• Water

• Geothermal

• Solar

• Microbes

• Soil

▶️ SETUP

• Each player uses their own full deck.

• Shuffle.

• Each player draws 9 cards.

• Choose a starting player.

​

🔄 HOW A TURN WORKS

On your turn:

1. You may play up to 6 cards.

2. To activate a Cool Action, you must play:

   • The required Element, and

   • An equal or greater amount of Inspiration than listed on the card.

3. When activated, collect the Regeneration Points shown on the Cool Action.

Important:

• Inspiration and Elements can only be used once per activation.

• They are spent when played.

♻️ If You’re Stuck

If you can’t play:

• Recycle 3 cards by shuffling them back into your deck.

​

🃏 End of Turn

• Draw up to 3 cards.

• You may never hold more than 12 cards in your hand.

🏁 END OF GAME

The game ends when:

• All cards are played, OR

• Time runs out.

Add up your Regeneration Points.
Highest total wins!
